We are seeking a Manager, Educational Design (AU Course Development) to contribute to one of the largest changes to higher education in Australia over the past 30 years and help shape the new Adelaide University.

The University of South Australia (UniSA) and the University of Adelaide (UoA) are working together to create the new Adelaide University which will commence delivery of new academic programs from 1 January 2026.

Learning Enhancement and Innovation (LEI) facilitate, collaborate, design and create engaging and flexible student-centric blended and online learning experiences. In partnership, LEI empower academics to teach and students to learn by providing expertise into design and development of innovative pedagogically-driven practices and learning technologies. 

In this rewarding role, you will work under broad direction to lead team members in course and support teaching staff in delivering excellent learning outcomes for students at all levels.. As Manager, Educational Design (AU Course Development) you will contribute advice on good practice design for learning activities and other relevant pedagogical considerations such as curriculum and assessment design in higher education. Additionally, the role has responsibility for working with leadership, stakeholders, and team members to deliver effective resource planning.

To be successful you will need:

Strong understanding of educational principles and methodologies and their application in higher education, including experience in the design and development of blended and/or online educational programs, courses and activities. Experience in designing learning content and activities, including working with a Learning Management System and the implementation of curriculum design principles. Proven ability to lead others with a collaborative approach to achieving outcomes. Demonstrated ability to work well within a collaborative team environment and independently, develop productive relationships quickly, and sustain a client service orientation. Proven ability in leading work, demonstrating well developed organisational skills and a capacity to act independently and lead others within established guidelines. Operational familiarity with a number of common software tools, including MS Office, educational technologies, project management tools, media, visual and graphic design tools.

Desirable:

Postgraduate qualifications (preferably in teaching and learning or online/blended learning) or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience. Knowledge and experience within one or more pedagogical expertise areas relevant to the University’s strategic teaching and learning priorities. Detailed knowledge and experience with Canvas Learning Management System.
