Job Vacancy

An exciting opportunity exists for a Packing Operator to join our Production team at Mackay Port, reporting directly to Production Manager.

You will be part of a team and ensuring customer requirements and OH&S objectives are met.

Responsibilities of this role include:

Operate packaging and bagging machines. Undertake Warehouse and knowledge of Despatch duties. Provide maintenance support for packaging and palletising equipment within their trade skills. Perform ship loading duties including connection, disconnection, and Citec control loading. Troubleshoot and repair machine and equipment faults according to trade qualification.

 The person we seek will have experience in a similar industrial role, preferably in the sugar industry, a good knowledge of machinery and computer systems. You will have strong inter-personal skills; a passion for OH&S and a demonstrated ability make effective decisions.

 The position is scheduled on a roster on 12 hours shifts through a rotating roster. Overtime availability is also often available. This position could lead to further roles in the operations team for the right person.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  Qualifications

Trade electrical certificate

Experience

Minimum of 1 years' experience in an Operating environment is desirable Previous plant equipment operation experience is highly desirable

The candidate will have strong technical skills as well as, excellent interpersonal skills, planning and organisational skills. They will be a self- starter who is passionate about best practice and working part of a team. They will have a curiosity to learn and develop their career.
