Melbourne, Australia Department of Health Full time

The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of all Victorians. We’re focused on supporting Victorians to be as healthy as they can; whether through alerting them to seasonal risks like thunderstorm asthma, notifying them of contact with communicable diseases, safeguarding their drinking water, developing the best health, wellbeing and care facilities in the world, being at the forefront of mental health and wellbeing treatment or accelerating medical research. It’s all part of the way we partner with the community to help every individual lead a healthy life.

About the role:

The Digital Content Advisor is responsible for the creation, review, publishing and coordination of high quality and accurate digital content which meets departmental and WoVG standards.

The role manages the updating, editing and publishing cycle of web pages across the department main websites, health.vic and Better Health Channel.

Under the direction of the Digital Content lead, they will effectively manage and balance priority work, stakeholder needs, and the delivery of high-quality digital content to enable achievement of the department's strategic objectives.

They work closely with Branch colleagues and relevant business areas within the department and will use creative content to tell stories that demonstrate the benefits of government policies and initiatives. They are responsible for ensuring all content is clear, engaging and timely, and aligned to the department's digital strategy and strategic plan.

As appropriate, they may also be required to provide support to other teams across the Branch as and when needed, including participating in out of hours media and emergency rosters, providing support for public emergencies, large-scale communications campaigns, and other high priority projects, contributing to the effective management of work across the Communications and Engagement Branch and department.
