As a Senior Data Scientist within the Chief Operations Office (COO) Data Science team, you will contribute to the development and management of AI models supporting the Chief Operations Office of the bank. This role involves designing and developing cutting edge AI solutions to uplift operation efficiency and customer experience.
You will work closely with key stakeholders, and cross-functional teams within COO Data Science team and the COO business stakeholders to ensure best customer and business outcomes.
You will come with a strong business acumen along with demonstrable experience in using statistics and machine learning and will be part of a high-performing team of data scientists that concentrates on data models to solve data science problems.

The Chief Operations Office (COO) Data Science team is responsible for leading and the delivery of world-class AI and ML capabilities to support the stakeholders in serving our customers. We focus on developing advanced Machine Learning and Generative AI capabilities at CBA, working closely with business teams and analytics communities across the bank. We use data, ML and AI to enhance the financial wellbeing of our customers and communities, and to improve productivity and reduce risk.
As a community, our data scientists have diverse backgrounds and industry experience, with state-of-the-art machine learning research and development expertise, and in-depth knowledge of structured and unstructured data in the Bank. We are open-minded, curious and passionate about problem solving and data driven innovation at scale. In CBA we collaborate with universities and start-ups, hold regular knowledge sharing, technical training and external talks which aid in growing the data science community and industry reputation.

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure to any ML systems and statistical modelling will set you up for success in this role
Solid foundations in statistical modelling, Data Science and ML models and Gen AI Experience in developing and deploying a variety of AI / data science solutions including generative AI, NLP, reinforcement learning Have coding skills that allow you to build and implement the ML models ideas easily and quickly (R or Python, PySpark, Python, SQL, AWS/ Azure) Track record of proficient data wrangling skills and efficient large data manipulation Strong experience in identifying, analysing and prioritising opportunities for AI solutions to achieve the greatest impact Project management and presentation skills to communicate and keep track of timelines including to other data scientists working on same or similar projects Degree level qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or similar subjectsWorking with us:
