The Role
The ABC is looking for a Social Media Producer to help lead the ABC Melbourne social media strategy to increase its reach across digital platforms and connect our content with existing and new audiences.
The Job
Edit, produce, and publish accurate and timely content for ABC News’ social platforms. Create engaging content for social platforms to enhance audience understanding. Collaborate with newsroom colleagues to respond to breaking news and source user-generated content (UGC). Contribute ideas for improving ABC's News presentation in social spaces, including new content formats. Drive the social media strategy for ABC News (VIC) in collaboration with teams like Radio Melbourne. Use a creative approach to reach new audiences and deepen engagement on social platforms.Position Description:
About You
You'll have:
Strong editorial skills with ability to produce accurate, concise content as part of a team. Tertiary journalism qualification or equivalent practical experience. Expert in using social media to identify and distribute compelling digital stories creatively. Deep understanding of user behaviours and social media platform dynamics. Aware of emerging media technologies and social media trends. Passionate about creating authentic content representing Australia's diverse communities. Proven ability to build and maintain contacts across the Australian community.What we can offer you:
