About your new role

As Council Secretariat and Registers Officer, you will be responsible for the provision of all secretariat support in the preparation of Council Meetings and Committee meetings to ensure they run efficiently and effectively.

Location: Parramatta

Contract Duration: 3 months contract

Salary: $53.73 per hour + Super

Hours: 35 hours per week - Monday to Friday

Responsibilities include:

  • Compile agendas and business papers for Council meetings
  • Attend and take minutes and provide secretariat support at council Meetings and Committee Meetings
  • Provide advice, training and assistance to staff on Council’s Business paper process, including on relevant technology
  • Review and update Governance related registers on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide advice on Council Resolutions as required.
  • Apply continuous improvement principles to ensure that Council is providing efficient and effective service in relation to the management of business papers and its process on ongoing basis
  • Contribute to improved customer service and organizational effectiveness, by acting ethically, honestly and with fairness.

What you will need to succeed

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in all aspects of administrative tasks associated with Council Meetings and Committee Meetings
  • Demonstrated experience in training staff
  • Demonstrated experience in using Info Council Business Paper program
