About the Role:

As a Credit Controller, you will report to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor and be responsible for managing the debtors to ensure monthly cash collection targets are met. You will play a crucial role in the collection cycle, manage credit notes issuance, and liaise with Client Relationship Managers to resolve any issues promptly.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Focus:

  • Monitor and manage debtors to meet monthly cash collection targets.
  • Oversee the collection cycle, including reminder letters, final demands, and escalations to collection agencies.
  • Manage the issuance of credit notes in line with MUFG Pension & Market Services policy.
  • Ensure timely receipting of all debtor accounts.
  • Collaborate with Client Relationship Managers to review and resolve debtor issues.

Operational Management:

  • Liaise with Client Relationship Managers and other departments to ensure timely collection of invoices.
  • Produce accurate debtor aging reports and end-of-month board reports.
  • Manage debtor statement and reminder letter mailings.
  • Ensure timely reconciliations and follow-up on outstanding items.
  • Supervise daily cash receipting and bank reconciliations.
  • Identify and suggest process improvements.

People Leadership:

  • Resolve queries and escalations from stakeholders across finance, relationship management, and external customers.
  • Drive improvement of the credit control function with Client Relationship Managers and the Finance team.

Governance and Risk:

  • Maintain accurate records ensuring high data integrity.
  • Identify and manage risks appropriately.
  • Ensure credit control processes and policies are followed.

Experience & Attributes:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance or Accounting (preferred).
  • Previous experience in a credit controller role.
  • Experience with ERP general ledger/sales ledger and reporting tools (e.g., Vision, TM1).
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with Client Relationship Managers.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and numerical skills.
  • Effective reconciliation skills and basic knowledge of accounting structures.
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new concepts.
  • Flexibility to meet challenging deadlines.
  • Enthusiasm and a can-do attitude.
  • Effective planning and prioritization skills.
