Safety Bay Senior High School (SHS) is committed to student success and is seeking to establish a pool of Design and Technology Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2025.

At Safety Bay Senior High School, we deeply value diversity and strive for inclusion. As a Technologies teacher, you would play a crucial role in engaging all students in learning, through a differentiated program delivery that accounts for variance in learning styles, individual needs and academic levels. You would integrate Information and Communication Technology to enhance learning and a showcase the use of online platforms such as Connect and Compass is also highly desirable, as well as generally creating opportunities to pursue innovation.

Safety Bay SHS values teachers who understand the importance of building and fostering strong positive relationships with students to facilitate effective learning, which assists in building an engaging learning environment. The context for this position may be Digital Technologies or Design Technologies. Safety Bay SHS offers Design Technologies in Food and Hospitality, Wood, Metal and Engineering Digital technologies in information, Digital Media and Technology, Applied Information Technology (AIT) and a Certificate III in Information Digital Media and Technologies – Cyber Security. It would be beneficial if candidates could teach in multiple contexts, had recent experience with General and Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR), and possessed the ability to deliver Certificate courses.

Facility upgrades

Safety Bay Senior High School has received a $40 million State government investment for specialist facilities. This includes upgraded technology classrooms, commercial kitchen and other refurbishments to support teachers in tailoring the curriculum to better meet the needs of students, small groups, and classes. This investment will help all students reach their potential and achieve post-school success.
