The Manager Track Planning role coordinates the planning of track and civil maintenance and capital works for the SEQ network.  Managing a team of track planners, this role ensures future works plans are integrated with asset strategies for track works and other asset disciplines.

Overview of day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Management of track and civil assets and authorisation of major works requests.
  • Lead a team of planners to deliver a future works plan to maintenance providers and be the point of escalation.
  • Responsible for prioritisation and approval of asset renewal works to align with asset strategies.
  • Chairing meetings of forward works plans and review of completed woks with the maintenance provider.
  • Represent the Track and Civil Asset Manager with key interfaces such as road authorities and adjoining property owners.
  • Lead improvements to corridor maintenance plans and strategies.
  • Maintain a field presence and build strong working relationships across the business.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Strong experience in track maintenance and prioritising works based on risk.
  • Strong knowledge of CMMS (computer managed maintenance systems eg SAP/Ellipse) is highly desirable.
  • Management background with a proven ability to lead and influence.
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with all levels of the business.
  • Engineering or technical background in rail maintenance / construction.
