Position Purpose

To manage the release of software updates and features, ensuring they are delivered on time, with high quality, and minimal risk.

Key Responsibilities

– Release Planning:

  • Develop and manage release schedules.
  • Coordinate with development, QA, and operations teams.

– Communication:

  • Act as the main contact for release activities.
  • Keep all teams and stakeholders informed.

– Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate risks.
  • Prepare and test backup plans.

– Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure releases meet quality standards.
  • Oversee and coordinate testing activities.

– Release Execution:

  • Manage the deployment process.
  • Address any real-time issues during deployment.

– Post-Release Monitoring:

  • Ensure stability post-release.
  • Address any issues that arise.

– Documentation:

  • Maintain records of release activities.
  • Prepare reports on release status.

– Process Improvement:

  • Continuously improve the release process.

Skills and Experience

– Technical Skills:

  • Azure DevOps: Experience with Azure Pipelines, Repos, and other DevOps tools.
  • .NET Development: 3+ years in C# .NET web applications and SQL Server.
  • Version Control: Proficient in Git and Azure Repos.
  • CI/CD: Knowledge of continuous integration and deployment.
  • Scripting: Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with Azure services and cloud deployment.
  • Configuration Management: Experience with tools like Ansible or Puppet.
  • Monitoring and Logging:Experience with tools like Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.

– Soft Skills:

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. 
  • Problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

– Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as DevOps or Release Engineer.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Desired: Experience with Salesforce, Copado, and the healthcare industry.

– Certifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or related field.
  • Preferred certifications: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Fundamentals.
