About ELMHS 

Early in Life Mental Health Services (ELMHS) provides assessment and treatment for infants, children, adolescents, young people and their families. We work with the 0-17 age group in the Southern Region. We provide a comprehensive assessment service and a range of treatment options including inpatient treatment in times of crisis, community (outpatient) treatment, group programs, family therapy, and specialist services. We work with families in addressing a number of complex issues that families may be experiencing including school refusal, parent/child relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, trauma related issues, self-harm, suicidal thinking, eating disorders, neuro developmental presentations and psychosis.

About the Role  

An exciting opportunity for a Family Therapist Lead to join a thriving, engaged team of clinicians providing clinic based mental health assessment, formulation and treatment to complex and acute young people in the South East. Exposure to a multidisciplinary team led by consultant psychiatrists, the Core Community Treatment Team provides medium term treatment for children, adolescents and their families in the City of Casey, City of Greater Dandenong, Shire of Cardinia and the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula area. We work collaboratively with families, schools and other agencies to create identified areas for change and work strongly from a relational and systemic framework. 

The Family Therapist Lead position will be attached, but not limited to, the Core Community Treatment Teams within ELMHS which include the Infant Child & Family stream and Adolescent stream.

This part time (3 days a week) role will suit a creative and innovative candidate who strive to learn and embrace emerging practice directions. ELMHS attracts clinicians who believe that families and individuals have the capacity to change and are instrumental in supporting this process. This role is funded as a Grade 4 allied health clinician: Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology (HR28, HR12, HR16) Grade 4 Psychologist (PM4) and Grade 5 Nursing (NP51).
