Looking for a senior production planner to lead the production planning team of a well established food manufacturing business to exceed production objectives in the most cost effective manner near their Strathfield office.

As the senior production planner, you will be responsible for the creation and distribution of production schedules by allocating the materials effectively while evaluating suppliers and/or quantity timelines to match goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, monitor and modify detailed weekly production schedules
  • Liaise and negotiate with production managers and maintenance teams to ensure that other site activities will not impact the agreed production schedules
  • Implement new processes and further improve current planning practices
  • Mentor, develop and upskill planning team members to exceed role requirements
  • Ensure team members perform their tasks in a timely and accurate manner
  • Oversee the work of their team and act as a liaison between their team and management
  • Set goals, lead team meetings, and provide support and guidance to team members where required
  • Estimating the amount of material, equipment, and labor required for production.
  • Promptly addressing and resolving production issues to minimize delays in production.
  • Recommending viable solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production processes and product quality.
  • Compiling status and performance reports and submitting them to management in a timely manner.
  • Promptly informing the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules.

Qualifications:

  • CPIM accreditation or equivalent
  • Proven experience as production planner in FMCG
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Customer-focused mindset
  • High attention to detail
  • Fantastic relationship building skills and a team player
  • Flexible to working hours to facilitate business requirements
