Looking for a change in career?
Are you a resilient, mature, compassionate, and empathetic individual looking for a opportunity to show off your potential? As part of Ventia's ongoing contract with the Department of Justice, we have a fantastic opportunity to register for one of our upcoming Custody Officer Assessment centres where you will participate in a fitness assessment and interview all on the same day
The upcoming sessions we have on offer are on the following Saturday's: 31st August, 7th September & 14th September (Starting at 9am).

Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport and supervise detainees during critical activities
- Participating in court activities and ensure safety requirements are met
- Manage conflicts and communicate empathetically, positively impacting the lives of detainees
- Maintain a professional, fair, and open-minded approach towards detainees
- Provide safety and security for detainees, staff and the public
- Conduct walking and mobile patrols of designated areas
- Supervise detainees, escort them to appointments or court appearances, and maintain accurate records
What to expect at our Assessment Sessions:
- Presentation about the crucial role of a Custody Officer on the CS&CS contract
- Fitness assessment, including:
- Beep test (minimum standard: 4.1)
- Illinois Agility Test
- Dead ball lift over the shoulder
- Incident reporting
- Formal interview
Requirements:
- Availability for full-time training for 6 weeks in Perth (Fully Funded)
- Commitment to a minimum of 12 months to obtain qualifications
- Australian/NZ Citizen or permanent resident
- Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical, including a drug & alcohol test
