What you will be doing:
• Safe Transport and Supervision: Ensure the secure transportation and supervision of detainees during critical activities.
• Court Participation: Engage in court proceedings while upholding all safety requirements.
• Conflict Management: Handle conflicts with empathy, fostering positive interactions that can significantly impact detainees’ lives.
• Professional Conduct: Maintain a professional, fair, and open-minded approach to all detainees, promoting respect and dignity.
• Safety Oversight: Provide a secure environment for detainees, staff, and the public through vigilant monitoring.
• Patrol Duties: Conduct walking and mobile patrols of designated areas to ensure safety and compliance.
• Record Keeping: Supervise detainees and escort them to appointments or court appearances, ensuring accurate documentation of all activities.
What to expect at our Assessment Sessions:
• Role Insights: Gain valuable insights into the critical responsibilities of a Custody Officer within the CS&CS contract.
• Fitness Assessment: Participate in a comprehensive fitness evaluation, including:
- Beep Test (minimum standard: 4.1)
- Illinois Agility Test
- Dead Ball Lift Over the Shoulder
• Group Task: Collaborate with other candidates in a group task to demonstrate teamwork and communication skills
• Formal Interview: Engage in a formal interview to discuss your suitability for the role and share your experiences
Prepare for an engaging and informative assessment session where you can showcase your skills and enthusiasm
Requirements:
• Availability for full-time training for 6 weeks in Perth (Fully Funded)
• Commitment to a minimum of 12 months to obtain qualifications
• Australian/NZ Citizen or permanent resident
• Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical, including a drug & alcohol test
