About the role

The Communications and Marketing Advisor is part of the Business Communications team, which delivers and supports the marketing communications needs of WorkSafe’s business units. This position works closely with the Manager Business Communications and Senior Communications Advisors to deliver WorkSafe’s external communications programs and campaigns.

The Marketing and Communications team includes Business Communications, Marketing, and Design teams and is part of the wider External Affairs team.

You will assist in developing, implementing and evaluating communications strategies to support business initiatives.  Under the guidance of the Manager, you will work with the Research Management team to understand initiatives and ensure communications support business objectives.  You will also;

  • Work collaboratively across the External Affairs division and WorkSafe business units to provide specialised services that ensure marketing and communications initiatives meet stakeholder needs, our marketing plans and WorkSafe’s strategic priorities.
  • Engage external suppliers such as creative and media agencies to deliver communications activities and campaigns.
  • Assist the team in working with internal client to develop owned channel campaigns to respond to business issues.
  • Support the broader Business Communications team by contributing strategies, ideas, solutions and approaches to improve communications systems and tools.

About you

You are experienced delivering multi-channel marketing, communications and public relations campaigns to meet defined objectives.  You have well developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate issues or messages clearly, simply and effectively to a range of audiences.  You will also demonstrate;

  • A strong focus on teamwork and collaboration, with a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team or with some autonomy.
  •  A strong planning and organisational skills, and an ability to manage workflow and priorities, including managing multiple concurrent activities.
  •  An ability to work to tight timelines, be resilient and flexible, and meet deadlines in a changing environment.
  •  An ability to problem solve and be professional, when managing issues and conflict, in a complex stakeholder and issues rich environment.
