About you
We're looking for someone who demonstrates robust advocacy and unwavering support for children in out-of-home care (OOHC). They will be driven by a passion for empowerment, motivation, and empathy. The candidate will hold strong values, appreciating and respecting cultural, linguistic, spiritual, and religious diversity. Additionally, they will possess well-developed time management and organizational skills, ensuring effective and efficient performance in all tasks.
The role
In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert knowledge and support to the operations within Challenge Community Services. You will uphold a positive image of children, young people, and individuals with disabilities by adhering to relevant legislation, including the NSW Children's and Young Persons (Care & Protection) Act 1998. You will assist in developing our internal Allied Health Teams practice framework and promote the importance of reparative experiences and evidence-based practices. Additionally, you will deliver high-quality clinical support to local communities, including training, therapy/counselling, and behaviour support.
Essential Selection Criteria
- Social Work degree and eligibility for the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Demonstrated clinical experience in psychosocial assessment, systematic family therapy, family/parent psycho-education, and individual counselling and behaviour management.
- Demonstrated proficient, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience in working with a diverse range of people across all age groups.
- Ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for the clients, families and/or carers.
- Current NSW Drivers licence.
- Current WWCC or the willingness to obtain
- Current Police Check or the willingness to obtain
- Current NDIS Worker Check
- Covid 19 Vaccination
Desirable Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in Out of Home Care sector
- Demonstrated experience or ability to work in Mental Health
