About the Role:

This is a Permanent Full Time position in the EMR Technical Services department. As a Senior Integration Analyst you will be responsible for the delivery of integration services used to manage the transfer of mission-critical data between the Parkville EMR and key precinct information systems. You will also provide technical management, leadership and mentoring to Integration Analysist both with in the EMR team and wider precinct teams.

What you'll achieve:

  • Provide key liaison between the Technical Integration team, the wider EMR functional / application teams and Parkville Health services’ application and integration teams
  • Develop and build capability within the Parkville EMR integration team to extend staff skills and knowledge and grow staff resources capable of supporting EMR integration services
  • Establish and manage relationships with external vendors including Victorian OCIO Design Authority team
  • Leadership role in 24 x 7 support of technical integration services including active monitoring and resolution of integration issues, and leading technical staff to provide support of the service both in-hours and out of hours
  • Analyse, design, build and implement interfaces as required, including the integration of internal applications and linkages with external providers or organisations

Your skills and experience:

  • Expert knowledge of integration technologies including HL7 and other communication protocols
  • Demonstrated skills in designing, implementing and managing integration services within a large, complex healthcare setting
  • Broad experience and knowledge of Electronic Medical Record, Patient Administration System and other common health care applications
  • Demonstrated experience in Rhapsody integration technology
  • Proactive leadership style and takes initiative and responsibility
  • A driven and enthusiastic approach to facilitate service delivery activities and a strong ability to motivate colleagues and team members
  • Ability to present technical concepts in simple and understandable terms so as both technical and non-technical audiences gain an understanding
  • Strong critical thinker with problem solving aptitude, with a proven ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and prioritise workloads

About the Parkville Electronic Medical Record (EMR) department:

The Parkville EMR is a world-class system shared by The Royal Melbourne Hospital, The Royal Women’s Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and The Royal Children’s Hospital to support high-quality, seamless healthcare in Parkville and improve health outcomes for Victorians. The EMR is used by more than 15,000 clinicians and staff across the four health services and is delivered in partnership with Epic, a global leader in health information technology.

The Parkville EMR team is responsible for the day-to-day management, operation and improvement of the EMR. The EMR Technical team work collaboratively with all four health services and are managed by the RCH.
