The Opportunity

Nestled within 42 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens in the leafy suburb of Ashmore, The Domain Country Club is a resort-style community that is home to 370+ independent living units and apartments. In late 2024, we will be reopening our Clubhouse bistro and cafe after extensive renovations and we're excited to expand our team of hospitality staff Working closely with the Chef Manager, you'll prepare, cook and present meals in our new Clubhouse restaurant and for our daily dining room residents. As a hands-on and well-rounded Chef, you'll have experience in volume catering with high standards of meal presentation. If you enjoy working autonomously and in a small team, this is a great opportunity. The residents are the heart of everything we do and the reason we come to work every day, their happiness is key to a successful overall operation and we are looking for someone who values this as much as we do.

This is a full-time position working: Monday 9.30-5.30pm, Tuesday 10.30-8.30pm, Wednesday 2-8.30pm, Thursday 10.30-8.30pm and Friday 12-8.30pm. These hours are subject to change as we work through the operational requirements when we open our Clubhouse restaurant.

You will:

  • Ensure quality meal services to residents and any visitors to the restaurant 
  • Prepare, cook, present and deliver meals according to recipes with high attention to detail
  • Monitor food safety plans and ensure the kitchen is adhering to all OH&S standards
  • Manage stock - assist with ordering, stock rotation, stocktake etc.
  • Manage the cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen equipment
  • Work with fellow Food & Beverage or Cook/Chef staff to ensure smooth operations

What you'll bring

  • Experience in catering/kitchen/hospitality settings (e.g experience in food preparation or Chef roles) 
  • Certificate III in Commerical Cookery (required)
  • A friendly and warm persona with a passion for food and great team work
  • Current Police check (required, but we can complete for you)
  • Two (2) COVID-19 Vaccinations (required)
