The Opportunity

The Domain Country Club is a large resort-style retirement living community located in Ashmore on the Gold Coast and home to over 370+ independent living apartments & villas. In the role of Chef Manager, you will be extremely hands-on, working closely with residents and your small team of hospitality staff to lead your kitchen to success by providing exquisite lunch & dinner services that exceed the satisfaction of all residents and their guests. You will have a positive rapport with residents, be hands-on and ensure sufficient supplies of goods & ingredients. Most importantly, you'll have a passion for food and delivering a gold standard of service to our customers

It is an exciting time for The Domain Country Club as we are undergoing a renovation to reopen our Clubhouse, which will be home to our a la carte Clubhouse restaurant

This is a full-time Monday-Friday opportunity working 9.30am-6pm

You will:

  • Be responsible for all kitchen operations - preparing, cooking and overseeing lunch and dinner services, providing guidance to your team and creating fresh ideas
  • Work closely with your food & beverage team to deliver great service, ensure the kitchen is running smoothly and coordinating ideas for events and functions
  • Monitor daily Food Safety checklists and ensure strict adherence to all OH&S policies
  • Complete stock management of all goods including ordering, rotation and amendments
  • Complete staff rostering, manage development & hiring and ensure your team deliver outstanding service to residents
  • Following up on day-to-day operational issues including adhering to schedules, cleaning lists and performance issues

What you'll bring:

  • Experience in a casual dining kitchen setting (e.g retirement villages, cafes, a la carte settings, RSLs or pubs)
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (required)
  • Qualified Food Safety Supervisor (desirable)
  • Kitchen management experience (ordering stock, rostering and admin experience)
  • Current Police Check clearance and minimum two (2) COVID-19 vaccinations (required)
