About the Company
Our client is a leading fund manager with strategies across broad asset classes and a focus on both maximising financial returns and societal impact.

Reporting to the Senior Portfolio Manager you will be responsible for monitoring domestic and global equity fund managers while supporting the fund's investment strategy and maintaining day-to-day oversight of investment portfolios.    

This position is an initial 9-month FTC.  
  
Key responsibilities will include:

  • Monitor financial markets and contribute to the assessment of risk and return expectations across equity markets.
  • Assist in the analysis of portfolio structures and residual risk exposures, including preparing portfolio exposure reports.
  • Contribute to the forming of investment views and assist in their implementation across equity portfolios.
  • Actively participate in the investment research program, reviewing and meeting equity fund managers.

Technical Skills & Qualifications required include:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and post-graduate studies well regarded (CFA would also be highly regarded – or progress towards completion)
  • Passion and curiosity for investments and financial markets;
  • Investment manager research experience and understanding of portfolio construction, gained from an asset consulting, funds management, or superannuation fund
  • The ability to understand, interpret and synthesise data together with an open-minded approach to assessing investment strategies and opportunities. Strong skills in using data services/sources and data visualisation and analysis will be highly valued.
  • Independent thinker with a self-starter attitude;
  • Advanced excel skills and competence with other MS Office products;
  • data visualisation capability; working knowledge of Power BI would also be well regarded;
  • A highly analytical, collaborative team player with a strong work ethic who works productively and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to working in a ‘for purpose’ organisation is essential.
