My client is a multi-award-winning global equities fund manager based in Melbourne CBD. They have an absolute return focus and a strong track record of outperformance. They manage several billion dollars on behalf of institutional and wholesale investors.

Due to continued growth and a new fund launch, a newly created position has opened for a junior equity analyst to join their talented investment team.

Upon successful hire, you will play a crucial role in supporting the research and analysis efforts of the investment team. You will work closely with senior analysts and portfolio managers to contribute to the investment decision-making process and help identify opportunities for the various funds.

**Upon successful hire, you will**:

- Develop a solid track record of stocks under coverage, with examples of timely and thoroughly considered buy and sell recommendations.
- Initiate own investment recommendation that is insightful and timely from well-versed industry and stock observations.
- Conduct forecasting, modelling and analysis of the company’s characteristics.
- Proactively develop rapport and relationships with industry contacts, information providers and investee companies.
- Be up to date with stock and sector news and issues.
- Maintain relationships with company management and directors and initiate all contact with the company, including one-on-one meetings with management and inviting other team members to those meetings where appropriate.
- Monitor competitor companies of each company and arrange visits where appropriate.
- Maintain relationships with brokers that cover that company or other relevant industry contacts.
- Write up succinct notes about each company visit.
- Have a demonstrable passion for listed equities.
- Have 1-4 years of experience in corporate finance, management consulting, investment banking, private equity, equity research, corporate development or similar.
- Have a strong work ethic.
- Have a solid understanding of accounting, valuation, modelling and financial analysis.
- Demonstrate a high level of enthusiasm.
- Be confident and resilient enough to navigate through professional achievements and setbacks.
- Be based in Melbourne and travel internationally multiple times yearly.
- Have full working rights (visa sponsorship is not an option).
