Are you a seasoned legal professional with a keen analytical mind and a passion for managing complex legal cases? Coles is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel specialising in litigation to join our dynamic legal team. 

About the Role 

As a Senior Legal Counsel at Coles, you will play a critical role in providing expert legal advice and support across a broad spectrum of litigation matters. Your primary responsibilities will include: 

  • Managing and overseeing complex litigation cases from inception to resolution. 
  • Conducting thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies. 
  • Advising senior management on potential legal risks and implications of litigation matters. 
  • Developing and implementing effective litigation strategies to protect Coles' interests. 
  • Collaborating with external counsel and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless case management. 
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations affecting the company. 

Ideally you will have:

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal degree from an accredited institution. 
  • At least 7 years of experience in litigation, with a proven track record of managing complex legal cases. 
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to conduct detailed legal research and analysis. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal arguments clearly and persuasively. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • A proactive and strategic approach to problem-solving and case management. 
  • Admission to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
