About the Role
CareSouth is currently looking for an experienced andenthusiastic Caseworker to join our Permanency Support Programpredominanty supporting young people residing in our ITC-SDprograms. The sucessful applicant will spend most of their timeworking within the residential service whilst providing directprofessional case management to children, young people and theirfamilies. The primary focus of this position is the ongoingassessment and investigation of appropriate support services toassist families to connect with support services. The role of theCaseworker is to be an advocate for the children, young people andfamilies to enable change that ensures that children and youngpeople are safe and that their social, emotional, health andeducation is improved.
The successful applicant will have:
Demonstrate a commitment to the safety of children, young people and people with a disability. Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Diploma in Social Sciences / Social Welfare or equivalent. Demonstrated understanding of the issues facing vulnerable children and their families. Sound interpersonal, facilitation and conflict resolution skills. Ability to work autonomously and as a part of a high performing team. Proven ability to establish and maintain effective community networks. Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills. Understanding and commitment to Equal Employment Opportunity, Work Health and Safety, Cultural issues and the NSW Child Protection system. Current driver’s licence. Willing to undergo a National Police Clearance and obtain a (NSW) Working with Children Check clearance number and/or (ACT) Working with Vulnerable People Card.-
