About the Role

CareSouth is currently seeking an experienced and passionate Caseworker to join our Permanency Support Program, mainly focusing on assisting young people in our ITC-SD programs. The chosen candidate will primarily work within the residential service, offering direct professional case management to children, young people, and their families. The key responsibility of this role is to continually assess and investigate suitable support services to help families connect with the necessary assistance. The Caseworker's role is to be an advocate for children, young people, and families to drive positive change ensuring their safety, as well as enhancing their social, emotional, health, and educational well-being.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated dedication to ensuring the well-being of children, young people, and individuals with special needs.
  • Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences/Social Welfare or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven comprehension of the challenges faced by underprivileged children and their families.
  • Strong interpersonal, mediation, and conflict resolution capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a highly competent team.
  • Established capability in building and maintaining valuable community relationships.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding and adherence to Equal Employment Opportunity, Workplace Health and Safety, Cultural considerations, and the NSW Child Protection framework.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to undergo a National Police Clearance and acquire a (NSW) Working with Children Check clearance number and/or (ACT) Working with Vulnerable People Card.
