We are working on an exciting new role created for an Associate Director to join a leading Australian, Asset Management firm. The role has been created after the successful deployment of capital into the private debt and special situations market in Australia. The role sits within the portfolio management function that works in partnership with the investment team. The current portfolio consists of over 40 deals across debt and special situations. The role will be responsible for ongoing management of these deals, with a particular focus on troublesome credits within the portfolio and asset takeover when required. General tasks include documentation and underwriting of deals and monitoring of existing transactions.

We are seeking candidates from portfolio management, credit risk, restructuring or debt investing and advisory for this role. It is likely the candidate will have at least seven to fifteen years’ experience in these directly related roles. Candidates must have a strong understanding and experience with managing capital constraints and risk for sub-investment grade credits, private debt and leveraged finance transactions. Candidates should be interested in utilising their skills in a role focused on portfolio rather than origination and execution. The role is fundamental to the investment team, working in partnership to ensure the fund’s exposures are protected.

Our client is an institutional asset manager headquartered from Melbourne. The private debt and special situations investment team has a proven track record of capital deployment and were first movers in building out a private credit business in the Australian market. They have a global team across debt investing as well as a sizeable team based in Melbourne. The fund offers flexible working, a great culture and professional development.
