This is a permanent part-time (0.41FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2024
Jandakot Primary School (PS) is seeking a cleaner in charge to join our friendly and highly valued facilities team. They will ensure our school is maintained to a high standard and in accordance with Department of Education policies and procedures and share the pride in presenting our school as a clean and hygienic environment for students and staff.
The Cleaner in Charge is responsible for the management of cleaning staff including relief cleaners, purchasing, stocktake of cleaning resources, maintenance of cleaning equipment, cleaning allocated internal and external areas and securing the school at the end of the day. They provide on the job induction training for all new and relief cleaning staff and conduct periodical cleaning inspections.
The successful applicant will ideally be organised, reliable, work well independently and as part of a team, have a high attention to detail and excellent knowledge of safe and effective cleaning procedures and practices. They will be experienced in maintenance and cleaning of carpets and hard floor surfaces, toilets, furniture and fittings, surfaces, windows, verandas and covered areas, drinking troughs and effective cobweb removal.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
good interpersonal and communication skills. ability to induct, coordinate and supervise the work of cleaning staff. experience in school or commercial cleaning. experience in the safe storage of cleaning equipment, materials and chemicals. ability to recognise and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets, equipment operating instructions, safety instructions and training guidelines.-
