This is a permanent part-time (0.75FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2024
The Cleaner in Charge (CIC) is responsible for inducting, training, leading and managing cleaning staff including relief staff; monitoring and ordering stock supplies within your budget; maintenance and stocktake of cleaning equipment; undertaking cleaning of allocated internal and external areas; opening and locking the school, including setting the security alarm system; and conducting a daily hand over with the Manager Corporate Services.
The successful applicant ideally should have good attention to detail and the ability to work well with others to ensure a clean and safe school environment. The successful applicant will ideally need to be organised, reliable and punctual. The successful applicant should work well both individually, and as part of a team, and have excellent knowledge of cleaning equipment and safe cleaning procedures, methods, and practices.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to induct, coordinate and supervise the work of cleaning staff. Experience in school or commercial cleaning. Experience in the safe storage of cleaning equipment, materials and chemicals. Ability to recognise and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets, equipment operating instructions, safety instructions and training guidelines.
