About the position:
We are currently seeking a Grade 1 Medical Scientist to join our service focused Haematology team based at our Heidelberg laboratory.
This is an exciting career opportunity for an experienced Scientist and holder of a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) or equivalent.
The laboratory offers a full range of Haematology-based assays including: FBE, Coagulation, Flow Cytometry, Blood Bank, and Haemoglobinopathy Studies
About you
To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the essential requirements:
Excellent communication skills as this role will include liaison with external and internal clients Demonstrated experience, knowledge, expertise and skills within the respective discipline Sound knowledge of QC, QAP and troubleshooting Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification Perform duties with a high degree of independence and with infrequent supervision and also be able to work as a Team An outstanding commitment to quality and excellence A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures A positive attitude toward achieving outcomes and being a cohesive, contributing team member Strong time management, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills The ability to cope and thrive in a busy environment Self-initiative and problem-solving capabilities Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy This role may require additional vaccination history and evidence for department specific vaccine preventative diseases Be highly self-motivated Accurate documentation Experience in Immunohematology and Morphology are advantageous. Your flexibility with hours will be well regarded as this role covers a variety of shifts including after hours and weekends. Participation in quality assurance programmes as well as day to day laboratory operations.
