About the Shepparton Laboratory

Austin Health Pathology is currently expanding into the Hume, Loddon Mallee and Goulburn Valley areas of regional Victoria, with laboratories in Shepparton, Mildura, Echuca and Swan Hill, and a point-of-care network. The Shepparton Laboratory is located within the GV Health campus, and provides services to patients from across the region. The laboratory is a multi-disciplinary service providing transfusion, haematology, biochemistry, and microbiology testing on site. 

About the role

  • Permanent full time position. 
  • 38 hours/week with an ADO every month. 
  • Multi-displinary scientist to work in the core lab. 
  • Working across all shifts within a 24/7 roster 

A regular day will see you:

  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment as per laboratory procedures; including but not limited to validation, verification, calibration, preventative maintenance, safety protocols and Quality Control.
  • Perform, read and interpret laboratory procedures, tests and assays.
  • Maintain training and competency levels in accordance with documented laboratory methods, procedures and policies.

You will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to

excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work, and have a keen interest in

developing your skillset.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you:

  • A Bachelor of Laboratory Medicine, or equivalent degree as recognised by AIMS, AACB, AAM or ASC
  • Ability to prioritise and to cope with stressful and emergency situations
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and as part of a team
  • Relevant experience in a laboratory environement
