The Legal Practice and Capability (LPC) Branch provides strategic and operational support to the Agency's legal function, contributing to the Chief Counsel and General Counsel Divisions.

This APS 5 Level Legal Practice and Capability Specialist role involves team leadership, setting priorities, and allocating work within the team based in DEAKIN ACT.
The role requires handling procedural, clerical, administrative, and operational tasks, with a significant level of contact with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing expertise and advice in specialist areas, contributing to Agency programs and initiatives.
  • Assisting with stakeholder relationships and achieving agency goals through administrative support.
  • Managing and completing administrative functions for operational support roles.
  • Supporting the preparation of written documentation, communication, briefs, policy and strategy documents, and training materials.
  • Maintaining internal systems and reporting functions to meet Agency requirements.
  • Advising on policy and procedural documents within the specialised work area.

About You:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in computer literacy.
  • Ability to produce work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • High organisational and administrative abilities.
  • Methodical and process-driven approach.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Paralegal or similar background (law student or legal admin) is highly desirable.
