The Role

ALS Water operates a modern laboratory in Melbourne (Scoresby) equipped with the latest in analytical technology. This is a full-time opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join our client-focused team in a Mon-Fri day 9am to 5pm-shift role.

We're looking for someone who can prepare water and soil samples for analysis by our Scientists who is a team player and can work quickly and accurately on the same tasks for most of the day. You may have experience in a fast-paced environment within the fast food or hospitality industry or have worked in a high throughput commercial laboratory environment.

The successful applicant will receive training and support in the technical components and procedures of the role and in a wide variety of processes associated with working in a modern laboratory.

The Day to Day

Preparation and analysis of water and soil samples in accordance with ALS Quality Work Instructions. Interpretation of results and LIMS system entry Completing tasks accurately, within set timeframes and to the relevant analysis standard. Organising daily work to optimise efficiency and meet turnaround requirements Maintaining equipment, including calibration and cleaning Contributing to a clean, tidy and organised lab environment The Essentials
Experience in a high throughput, client-focused environment - ideally with commercial laboratory exposure Good knowledge of Chemistry and demonstrated competency in lab skills Effective written and verbal communications. Strong team player who can also work autonomously and with initiative Well-organised, task-focused with attention to detail A clear understanding of HSE principles and commitment to safe working Working at ALS
