About the Role:

Senior Regulatory and Compliance Advisor – Retail Transformation | Melbourne Based | Permanent Role
As a Senior Regulatory and Compliance Advisor within AGL’s Retail Transformation team, you'll spearhead the implementation of a best-in-class regulatory compliance framework and be pivotal to empowering our people to drive sound regulatory advice. Your focus will be on ensuring the delivery of exceptional and innovative outcomes for AGL and its esteemed customers. Collaborating closely with a wide array of stakeholders throughout the Retail Transformation business unit, you will wield significant influence.

Your role will encompass providing timely, strategic advice on all relevant initiatives, crucially ensuring AGL's stringent adherence to regulatory compliance standards. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving the success of AGL’s Retail Transformation journey, as you offer invaluable regulatory guidance and insights across the entire spectrum of the retail energy market.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering strategic regulatory advice in a complex compliance landscape, guiding business units towards actionable solutions.

  • Offering high-quality regulatory guidance on various components of AGL’s Retail Transformation journey, including external communications, product development, and marketing processes.

  • Providing commercially practical advice to spotlight regulatory risks, facilitating informed decision-making.

  • Collaborating with the Retail Transformation program to ensure effective implementation and monitoring of new regulatory obligations.

  • Mentoring and coaching junior team members to build expertise within the Retail Transformation team.

  • Cultivating a positive compliance culture within Customer Markets and the Retail Transformation Program, fostering open discussion of issues, risks, and shared learnings.

About you:

  • Extensive demonstrated experience within a regulatory or compliance role within the retail energy industry.

  • Strong legal skills to interpret regulatory impacts on business processes, systems and outcomes.

  • Strong analytical skills with a detailed understanding of regulations and how they impact activities.

  • Commercial and strategic attitude toward ensuring regulatory compliance within business.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others across the business to develop and execute strategy.

  • Ability to present to AGL managers and staff on regulatory compliance.

  • Uses knowledge of regulations to help shape and implement future initiatives.
