Our client, a Queensland State Government Department, are currently seeking a Project Manager for an initial 6-month contract to manage a business case to propose a number of options for implementation of the water market data and systems reform.
The Project
Seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to work in a project team within a hybrid project methodology environment (PRINCE 2 and Agile) that is leading the implementation of the water market data and systems reform. The role will be project managing the business case to propose a number of options for implementation of the water market data and systems reform.
This role would suit a Project Manager with strong business process and data analyst skills and technical systems experience.
The successful applicant will be embedded in the Operations team and will work closely with subject matter experts to prepare a business case providing options for implementing the Water Market Reform Roadmap data and systems reform (including about water market information, data and ICT systems and regulatory requirements).

The Project

Key Duties and Accountabilities:
- Lead the project to develop the preferred business case for implementing the Water Market Reform Roadmap recommendations about water market information, data, ICT systems and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the project plan for the business case from requirements definition through to analysing options, identifying schedules, scope and budget estimations, including risk mitigation.
- Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as necessary, according to project work plan.
- Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure that the project adheres to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Analyse project status and, when necessary, seek approval to revise the scope, schedule, or budget to ensure that project requirements can be met.
- Establish and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders, providing contact on project status and changes.
- Assign and monitor resources to ensure project efficiency and maximise deliverables.
Previous experience working in the following areas would be highly regarded:
- a similar role
- an industry recognised Project or Program Methodology (e.g. Prince2, MSP etc)
- working within a Business/Continuous Improvement workspace
This hourly rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading.
