About Calvary Riverina

Built in 1926, Calvary Riverina Hospital is proud  to provide a range of services to the Riverina community including Calvary Riverina Surgicentre, our award winning Drug and Alcohol Centre, and Maternity and Women’s Health Services.

About you

The Allied Health Assistant is responsible for providing safe, effective and appropriate care to clients in a trauma informed and client centred environment.

This position is based at the Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centre at Calvary Riverina Hospital.  The allied health assistant works on a rotating roster where there is a requirement to work weekends and night duty.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting clients in their daily routine. 
  • Using a patient centred and trauma informed approach to client care.
  • Practice according to, the organisation’s Aims, Objectives and Core Values. 
  • Demonstrate the ability to work positively within a team to achieve team goals. 

What you bring 

    • Demonstrate an understanding of the role of an Allied Health Assistant and ability to work independently under the delegation of an Allied Health Professional and Nursing staff
    • Evidence of working towards Certificate IV in Alcohol or other drugs.
    • Demonstrated computer literacy skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and email applications.
    • Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required) as delegated by supervisor.
    • Demonstrated interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Current unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence.
    • Working with Children’s check
    • Current vaccination status.
