About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced National Account Manager to drive sales growth and manage key national grocery accounts for Yates. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional negotiation skills and a proven track record in account management, preferably within the grocery sector.
Yates sells products to hardware and grocery retailers with a product portfolio that expands across many seasonal categories throughout Australia. Yates operates in a highly competitive environment and mature market. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to category growth and increase market share, allowing you to make a real impact.
In addition to maintaining and growing your relationship with external stakeholders, you will also create close working relationships with internal stakeholders across the Yates business, in particular, providing direction and leadership to the national sales force to ensure key account activity is effectively executed and sales results are maximised.
With proven commercial experience, you will have strong communication skills and the ability to build trust as the foundation for effective working relationships. As a proactive thinker, you will enjoy staying ahead of the game and be able to problem solve on your feet as and when required.
The role can be based out of Padstow in Sydney or our Clayton office in Melbourne.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key national grocery accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Identify and pursue opportunities to increase sales and market share through strategic planning and execution
- Oversee accurate forecasting and account performance, providing detailed performance reports and conducting regular business reviews
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with key accounts, aligning with company objectives
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify potential threats and opportunities
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement sales strategies that achieve targets and drive growth

Skills & Experience
- Degree qualifications in Business, Marketing or similar
- Previous experience in sales (analytical role) and key account management
- Proven ability to gain buy-in with key stakeholders both internally and externally
- Highly developed planning and organisational skills - able to prioritise and manage workload
- Experience with analysing and presenting sales data; exceptional attention to detail
- Self-motivated, ability to meet deadlines coupled with professionalism
- High standard of written and verbal communication
