The Parklife Metro Consortium is working on an exciting new metro rail infrastructure project in Greater Western Sydney.
This city shaping project, which will be delivered under a Public Private Partnership, will provide a major economic stimulus for Western Sydney.
WeBuild as a D&C Contractor member, will be responsible for the successful delivery of the design and construction elements of the project, and we are currently looking to appoint an experienced Plant and Equipment Coordinator.
Position Description:
The Plant and Equipment Coordinator will support the P&E Department for the SSTOM project, in particular the P&E Coordinator will direct and coordinate plant, equipment, machinery, vehicles and facilities hire/procurement logistic, installation, deinstallation, maintenance, support, documentation, registering and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, procedures, the Deed and legal requirements.
Key responsibilities:
• Implement, maintain, and improve Plant equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems.
• Provide technical support and reporting.
• Operate computer-assisted engineering and software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
• Prepare the KPI's for plant and equipment and all required reports, supported by document controller.
• Direct and coordinate Plant manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
• Inspect completed Plant installations and observe operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
• Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment (Scope of Work).
• Supervise and train project team members as necessary.
• Assist in developing capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs.
• Develop budgets, estimating labour, material, and construction costs.
• Ensuring Plans, Procedures and Forms are adhered to.
• Developing and ensuring the implementation and ongoing management of Construction Method Statements/Work Procedures (CMSs/WPs), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and lots are opened and managed in a timely and effective manner.
• Ensuring latest revision drawings, procedures, forms and other relevant documentation are used onsite in consultation and assistance of the Document Controllers.
• Reporting Non-Conformances, Corrective and Preventative action immediately following their
identification.
• Ensuring Hold Point and Witness Points are adhered to, as detailed in the ITP.
• Arranging or undertaking testing in accordance with approved ITP.
• Assessing Quality Records to ensure compliance and ensuring records are updated in the electronic and hard files in a timely and efficient manner.
• Ensuring RFIs put forth are closed within the requested timeframe.
• Other duties as required.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
Minimum Qualifications: Recognized tertiary qualifications within a relevant field (Engineering - Mechanical)
Minimum Experience:
• At least 5 years of experience working in a similar role on a major infrastructure project of similar size and complexity to the SSTOM project
• Experience across Building Services and Fixed / Mobile plant / equipment
• Experience working within a D&C Environment
Job-Specific Skills:
• Fixed and Mobile Plant experience
• Exposure working in Building Services/ HVAC/ Plumbing and Fire Services
Key Competencies:
• Possess good interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively
• Ability to work to deadlines and targets and can prioritise tasks under pressure
• Flexible and adaptable
• Good organisational skills and able to pay attention to detail
