Description:

We're working with a global leader in the renewable energy space that are looking to hire a Legal Counsel. They require a front-end construction lawyer with 3-6 years experience to join the team.

As a Legal Counsel, you will work as part of a well-trained, high performing team in a leading global renewable energy business.
  
You will build on your legal and commercial skills through exposure to high-value renewable energy projects, offering detailed front-end advice. You will work on the full life cycle of renewable energy projects. This role will provide excellent scope for progression in the renewables space and allow you to develop your specialist skillset further.
  
If you’re a private practice lawyer looking to broaden and deepen your skill set, understand commercial drivers of a business and make decisions, then this role will provide these opportunities and a learning curve which will improve you significantly as a lawyer. If you are already in-house and working in a similar role then this could be an excellent opportunity for you to move to a global leader in the market that has ambitious targets and very interesting work.

What work will you be doing?

  • Advising, reviewing, negotiating and drafting a broad range of construction agreements;
  • Drafting and negotiating works, services and supply contracts, and O&Ms;
  • Drafting and negotiating corporate contracts;
  • Presenting to internal and external parties on legal matters and the provision of in-house training.

What type of person will be successful?

  • Admitted as a solicitor in Australia;
  • 3-6 years PQE in front-end construction or projects;
  • Experience dealing with construction disputes would be beneficial;
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with all levels of stakeholders;
  • A clear attention to detail and a high level of organisation;
  • Commercial mindset and a drive to deliver on high standards.
