: The ACT Education Directorate’s People Cases team is looking for a highly organised individual with strong administrative skills, an eye for detail and a willingness to work through problems as they arise to support our small team of case managers. Our People Cases HR Support Officer is the backbone of the People Cases team. A day in the life of this role includes maintaining our email inbox, updating the case management spreadsheet, reviewing and filing sensitive information relating to conduct matters, managing information sharing requests, compiling data and information for regular reporting, and providing ad hoc administrative support to the People and Conduct team as needs arise.

What you will do

Provide administrative support to the People Cases team in relation to conduct and reportable conduct matters, including notifications, correspondence, reports and referral documentation. Assist with the preparation of statutory notifications and sharing of information requests with regulatory bodies, including the ACT Teachers Quality Institute (TQI) and the Commissioner for Fair Trading within statutory timeframes. Maintain records for all cases in accordance with the relevant Territory legislation, including file searches, requests, and retrievals. Update case details in the case management system and assist in the preparation of data and reports. Assist in the development and review of policies, procedures, guidelines, templates, and process documents as required. Provide administrative support to the broader People and Conduct team as required. Work in accordance with, and uphold the ACTPS Respect, Equity and Diversity Framework and the Directorate’s Work Health and Safety system.

What you require

Demonstrated knowledge of and/or ability to interpret Employment/Industrial Frameworks and Human Resource Management policies/procedures as they relate to the ACTPS and the ACT Reportable Conduct Scheme. Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of customer service in a Human Resources environment, often under the pressure of competing deadlines including stakeholder liaison, high level interpersonal skills and management of both internal and external stakeholder groups. Proven verbal and written communication skills including the ability to prepare letters, emails, reports and other Branch documentation in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy. Demonstrated high level organisational skills including the ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects. Demonstrated ability to manage personal and/or sensitive information appropriately, maintaining proper confidentiality at all times. Demonstrated ability to use initiative to deliver on commitments, building trust with stakeholders and colleagues especially with competing priorities and deadlines. Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the implementation of the principles of Respect, Equity and Diversity (RED), ACTPS values and signature behaviours, participative work practices, work health and safety, staff development and training.

Eligibility/Other requirements: Qualifications in Human Resources or Industrial Relations or demonstrated relevant experience in a similar role would be highly advantageous.
