The Opportunity

The E7A Wedgetail provides world class airborne early warning and control capability to our Australian defence customer. We are seeking a Principal Systems Engineer- Integration Lead to lead a team of System Administrators to ensure the ground systems are maintained and any changes to those systems are integrated in a controlled manner. This role is based in RAAF Base Williamtown.

Responsibilities

  • Applying Systems Engineering to support the integration of complex engineering solutions into In-Service Ground Systems
  • Development of engineering documentation and configuration management of system hardware infrastructure
  • Coordinating with other design and specialty disciplines (e.g. software, hardware, safety, security and support system engineering) to ensure that your team's products are properly integrated into the solution and delivered in a way that meets the customer's needs
  • Consulting with the project teams to ensure the engineering scope meets the requirements of sustainment Verifying and validating designs and products to ensure they meet operational and functional requirements
  • Collaboration across Boeing and industry to align BDA work methods with best practice
  • Technical Leadership of the System Integration Team, management of tasks and technical risk
  • Growth and development of junior team members through mentoring.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Tertiary degree qualification in an engineering or related technical discipline
  • Information Technology tertiary qualifications or relevant OEM technical certifications or Systems Administrator experience minimum of 5 years
  • An understanding of Systems Engineering principles and lifecycle management with experience in Systems Engineering and/or systems integration in a complex project environment essential
  • Experience in technical problem solving essential
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.
  • Windows, Linux and VMware systems design and administration is desirable
  • Experience in delivering/integrating systems within Defence project environments is desirable
  • Experience with complex communications systems deployed in challenging environments is desirable
