About the role:

An exciting and unique opportunity to join Box Hill Institute as the Curriculum Maintenance Manager - Engineering Industries (CMM- EI)

Box Hill Institute (BHI) is contracted to provide the CMM service for Engineering Industries in Victoria. The main function of the CMM-EI is to supervise the day-to-day activities of the CMM Engineering Industries. This role will also be responsible for managing and monitoring the delivery of services by other CMM-EI staff.

You will provide authoritative advice across the engineering study areas on training issues to the Victoria Skills Authority, public and private training organisations, industry organisations and enterprises. Within the scope of the engineering industries area, you will be assisting RTOs with the implementation of training packages or state accredited course, develop Victorian Purchasing Guides maintain the stock of Victorian Crown copyright courses and undertake commissioned projects.

The position will provide authoritative and well researched advice to the Executive Director – Academic Governance who is accountable for the CMM contract. CMM-EI coordinates the operation of the CMM-EI Service to ensure achievement of the contractual requirements. This position is responsible for working professionally with employees at all levels across the Box Hill Institute and liaising with relevant external stakeholders, including (but not limited to):

  • Victorian Skills Authority
  • Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority
  • CMM Service network
  • Jobs and Skills Councils
  • Victorian Industry Advisory Groups – Executive Officer
  • Public and Private RTOs.

About You:

  • An approved trade or tertiary qualification in one or more of the following disciplines:
    • Electrical/electronics;
    • Engineering (mechanical or fabrication);
    • Telecommunications; or
    • Aeroskills
  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • A relevant tertiary degree in Vocational Education and training would be highly regarded
  • Knowledge of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector, including the Training Package Organising Framework (TPOF), the AQTF Standards for Accredited Courses, the Australian Qualifications Framework and the Standards for RTOs would be highly regarded
  • Experience in delivering annual grant programs, including monitoring performance against milestones, managing project budgets, risks and issues to deliver outcomes within agreed timeframes
  • Ability to translate strategies into programs or projects that enable achievement of outcomes required; defines governance e.g. success measures, roles and responsibilities, progress monitoring) required to manage risks and maximise probability of success
  • Strong ability to engage with and maintain relationships with RTOs, Industry Advisory Groups, and Jobs and Skills Councils for the suite of industries in the CMM-EI portfolio
  • Expertise in a wide range of computer/software packages including the suite of Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated ability to develop / manage operational budgets
