Job Description:

At Mars Petcare we are seeking a strong leader to continue the success in our manufacturing sites and the growth of our associates as the Shift Manager. This role will see you responsible for developing and managing both people & production on rotating shifts.

As the Shift Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes. This opportunity goes beyond Team Leading, it will also have you involve in the exciting new Projects across the Wodonga site. As the Shift Manager you will actively engage in defining, implementing, improving and standardising our Production processes whilst simultaneously encouraging our Production Operators to achieve their best.

  • Demonstrated skills in driving a team to achieve business objectives and implement corrective actions

  • Strong problem solving capability, ability to navigate complex problems and coach others in an efficient way to resolve them

  • Proven strength in delivering results through multi-functional teams

  • Ability to lead an engaged team and deliver shift targets and outputs consistently

  • People leadership skills is essential

  • Strong communication skills to liaise with direct and indirect reports along with the wider business for any immediate or future requirements

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, meeting strict timeframes and to produce high standard outcomes

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Lead, develop & mentor direct reports (approx. 15 associates) and exceed production targets whilst maintaining safety and quality standards

  • Meeting production demands and working in a dynamic environment to minimise any delays

  • Communicating in with the leaders regarding production time, budget expectations, materials, delays or concerns

  • Prioritising and managing tasks within the designated area to ensure the plant starts on time and learning curves are being met

  • Developing and implementing continuous improvement activities that address safety, quality and efficiency

  • Planning, directing and coordinating team members during dry & wet commissioning and product/process validation, to meet established specifications, schedules, volume/cost/wastage targets and quality standards

  • Develop plans & production schedules, allocating labor/capital resources

  • Liaising with the Project/Site Engineering team, R&D, Supply & Logistics and Sales.
