About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker for our Crisis Accommodation You will delivery professional support to young people who are homeless or at risk of experiencing homelessness developing case management plans within crisis accommodation.
Responsibilities include
- Deliver high quality support services to young people accessing youth services programs
- Provide safe and nurturing environment for residents residing within refuge
- Complete comprehensive intake and risk assessments for all refuge clients
- Develop case management plans to assist young people to attend appointments relating to health & well-being, sustainable housing, education & employment, life & living skills and social inclusion & participation
- Remain calm, focused and maintain perspective when faced with change, crisis and difficulty; flexible to a changing work environment
- Participate in supervision with line manager
This is a permanent part-time position, 24 hours per week, based in Fitzroy North, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Award Level 4.
This role requires sleepover shifts. Shift times are listed below:
Week 1
Monday: 8am – 2pm
Tuesday: 2pm – 9pm
Wednesday: 4pm – 11:30pm / Sleepover - 7:30am – 8:30am
Friday: 4pm – 11:30pm / Sleepover - 7:30am – 8:30am
Week 2
Monday: 4pm – 11:30pm / Sleepover - 7:30am – 8:30am
Saturday: 8am – 4:30pm
What you will have
- Tertiary qualification in Social Sciences, Welfare or related field with a degree qualification preferred
- Prior work experience supporting and providing high quality services to young people, accessing youth services programs
- Understanding and commitment to mission and values of The Salvation Army
- Compassion and professionalism in all actions and ethics
- Strong verbal and communication skills
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
