About the Opportunity
Hourly rate from $37.60 to $54.59 depending on experience.
We are currently seeking an Early Childhood Teacher to join our team at Uniting Summer Hill Children's Centre on a full time contract. Working on a 7 week rotating roster we have an indoor and outdoor long day care program for children between 3-5 years old. You will be working with a supportive team of 7 full time experienced Educators. Our service also has a registered play therapist to support your knowledge as an ECT. There is also the opportunity to be trained as an Educational Leader
Summer Hill's philosophy is designed to focus on identity and belonging for all children with a program rich in language, literacy, creative expression, exploration, investigation and children's citizenship. Summer Hill has a beautiful learning environment for children and families. Opening hours are 7.30am to 6.00pm.
What you’ll be doing in this role
As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will contribute to the planning, implementation, evaluation and reflection of the educational program for the children. You’ll also provide quality education and care to children to help support and facilitate their learning outcomes in accordance with the National Quality Standards and learning framework
Your care work may include:
- Contribute to the development of programs which reflect the approved learning framework.
- Developing positive and respectful relationships that support children, their families and community.
- Facilitating play-based learning environments that are responsive to children’s interest, strengths, and abilities.
- You’ll guide and support educators to implement the program and philosophy for the children.

Who we’re looking for
- Bachelor Teaching / Early Childhood Education
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working as an ECT and experience working as educational lead
- A work history that demonstrates recording observations, writing learning stories and supporting the planning of a successful curriculum using the Early Years Learning Framework.
- Understand the National Quality Framework and EYLF
- Have the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, families and community members
- You’ll be adaptable, empathetic and resourceful, and be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
