About the opportunity
The Senior accountant role specialising in Leases sits within Woolworths Finance Shared Services (FSS) which is one of the largest in Australia and is in the top 20 best performing FSS globally. This is a hybrid opportunity, ideally based out of our Adelaide office, SA.
What you'll do
- Maintain accurate lease and financial data within PEPS (internal lease management system) and SAP
- Assist and oversee occupancy payments ensuring compliance with Woolworths interpretation of the lease
- Provide support in related Annual Operating Plans for both Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet
- Within a team, manage lease accruals and mitigate financial risks for business units
- Contribute insights into occupancy cost and IFRS16 lease accounting standards with documentation and policy updates
- Respond to external and internal ad hoc enquiries related to lease management
What you'll bring

We are looking forward to hearing how you may have demonstrated these capabilities whilst also having:
- Genuine interest and experience with retail / landlord lease management environment and IFRS16 lease accounting standards
- Finance or related degree with CA/CPA qualification preferred (or working towards)
- Strong analytical capabilities
- Ability to navigate within a matrix-style environment whilst prioritising competing deadlines and stakeholders
- Enthusiasm, excellent oral and written communication and ability to problem solve independently
- Keen eye for opportunities to continuously improve systems and process and proactive nature to drive solutions
