In this role you will be responsible for managing a team of 4 members to drive, maintain, and coordinate and monitor the day-to-day laboratory functions and ensure full compliance to product specifications & GLP.

The Role

Our Wetherill Park site in Sydney is our Milk Based Beverages (MMB) hub for the eastern seaboard. The site manufactures fresh and extended shelf-life products, including our short Shelf Life pack format MBB and Ultra Heat Treated (UHT) long-life unrefrigerated milk. This facility has benefited from past and ongoing large-scale investment and produces 75 million litres of some of Australia's most loved dairy products, including Dare Iced Coffee, Dairy Farmers, Farmers Union, and Big M.

We currently have a 1-year contract opportunity for a Technical Team Leader to join the Wetherill Park team to focus on delivering all round QA responsibilities develop and implement the QA systems in place and improve the technical quality culture across the site.

In this role you will be responsible for managing a team of 4 members to drive, maintain, and coordinate and monitor the day-to-day laboratory functions and ensure full compliance to product specifications & GLP, as well as providing guidance and training to laboratory employees including inductions, safety training, quality assurance, and food safety initiatives to ensure quality of product and process.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, maintain, implement and monitor laboratory systems & GLP standard

  • Monitor product compliance and investigate non-conformances and OOSs as required

  • Liaising and foster collaboration between different departments in problem solving to ensure optimum plant performance

  • Investigate and monitor customer complaints & Maintain laboratory staff training compliance

  • Organise and facilitate laboratory programs such as sensory evaluation, proficiency testing, trade measure compliance, pathogen testing, contaminate monitoring

About you

  • Excellent communication skills to interact with wide variety of people

  • Proof of leadership experience with small to medium team

  • Good knowledge in Safety & Quality Standards – BRC (preferred)

  • Experience with SAP and Intelex or related

  • Tertiary Qualifications in food science or related field
