Job Description

As a Risk and Business Continuity Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening the LG's readiness and response capabilities. Reporting to the Audit and Risk Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Advising local government leadership on identifying, assessing, and preparing for disruption risks.
  • Formulating, designing, and implementing risk and business continuity initiatives, programs, and frameworks.
  • Providing strategic and operational advice to senior leaders on emerging business priorities and initiatives.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal stakeholders to foster collaboration.
  • Delivering tailored risk analysis, continuity reports, training sessions, and presentations across all organisational levels.
  • Developing risk treatment plans that support sustainable, evidence-based practices aligned with local government strategic goals.
  • Managing and maintaining the local government's risk management systems to ensure accurate records and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Leading municipality-wide risk management and continuity planning efforts, monitoring implementation, and effectiveness.
  • Analysing changes in strategic, fraud, and corruption risk profiles, providing insightful reports to relevant committees.
