The Opportunity

As our new Compliance Supervisor, you'll play a key role in making sure we meet all the regulations and standards that keep our operations safe and efficient. Reporting to our National Compliance Manager, you will ensure our operations comply with safety regulations like Mass Management, Load Restraint, and Fatigue Management. With your understanding of SA road permit requirements and at least 5 years of transport experience, you'll play a vital role in maintaining safety and regulatory excellence in our transportation operations while enjoying a supportive team environment and a comprehensive salary package

What your days would look like:

  • Ensure all documents, policies, and procedures are meticulously reviewed and updated to comply with relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks, maintaining a high standard of adherence.
  • Proactively participate in comprehensive reviews and maintain safety and security systems to meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Conduct audits and inspections to ensure strict adherence to all regulations, promptly addressing any non-compliance.
  • Administer road transport licensing efficiently, ensuring compliance.
  • Collaborate with business development to support growth initiatives through regulatory compliance.
  • Provide expertise and guidance during transport incidents or emergencies.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into transport incidents, documenting findings and recommending preventive measures.
  • Offer support and advice to operational managers and schedulers on regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor staff on compliance matters, fostering their professional development.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance transport compliance, safety, and security.

Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrated track record of at least 5 years in a comparable compliance role, ideally within the transportation sector, showcasing expertise in navigating regulatory landscapes effectively.
  • Proven experience of at least 3 years in supervisory positions or comparable leadership roles, demonstrating strong managerial capabilities and leadership skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding and practical application of Chain of Responsibility (COR) principles, including Mass Management, Load Restraint, Fatigue Management, and HVAC requirements.
  • Thorough knowledge of South Australian Roads permit requirements and Heavy Vehicle Access Management (RAV) regulations, with a keen awareness of regional regulatory nuances.
  • Certified and proficient in the safe handling and transportation of Dangerous Goods, ensuring compliance with stringent safety protocols and regulatory standards.
