The role
As the Safety Project Officer, you will implement safety projects across the organisation to develop new and improved ways of working. Working in alignment with our established safety strategy, you will lead projects to keep items on track as well as consult with stakeholders in implementing improvement projects. 

This role will suit a candidate who has good organisational skills, good communication, a commitment to learning, and a curiosity for improvement. Training and development will be provided for the right candidate as well as the opportunity to work with a collaborative and dynamic Safety & Wellbeing team.  

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Implement actions outlined in the Safety Strategy.
  • Manage project plans to achieve outcomes. 
  • Organise and deliver Safety and Wellbeing initiatives. 
  • Establish strong relationships for effective communication and initiative implementation.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders for benchmarking and improvement.
  • Research best practices for addressing issues.

You will have

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in WHS or similar field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A valid class C drivers’ licence.
  • Demonstrated expertise in WHS, particularly in functional or leadership roles.
  • Proficiency in designing, documenting, implementing, and coordinating Safety Management Systems.
  • Familiarity with interpreting relevant legislation.
  • A proven track record of managing projects or programs involving diverse stakeholders.
  • RTW Coordinator accreditation or Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training (not essential, but desirable)

The salary range for this opportunity starts at $90,858 (Grade G, Step 1) + 11.5% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
