The Role    

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Mathematics faculty as Learning Area Leader (Years 10-12) at our Caulfield Campus. The successful candidate will be an exemplary teacher with leadership experience, a commitment to quality curriculum and a genuine interest in pastoral care. This is a 12-month fixed term contract (0.5 FTE time release, 0.5 FTE Teaching) commencing 1 January 2025. The fixed term Learning Area Leader role is offered as 1.0 FTE teaching contract.

Key Duties 

  • Lead, support and facilitate the Mathematics Learning Area Team to deliver key curriculum objectives and innovation within the classroom
  • Demonstrate an understanding and commitment to the Vision, Mission and Values of CGS 
  • Responsible for ongoing commitment to quality performance by all team members 
  • Initiate strategies to continuously improve the quality of the program
  • Monitor teaching and learning resources and practice to ensure the best possible outcomes for all students
  • Facilitate assessment and subsequent reporting
  • Manage budgets, expenditure and co-ordinate documentation for the learning area
  • Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours

Skills and Experience   

  • Ability to model and support the application of core principles that underpin the faculties approach to teaching and learning 
  • Proven capacity to lead and develop a team
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate in the planning and implementation of curriculum initiatives
  • Ability to demonstrate outstanding classroom teaching practices 
  • Hold a current VIT registration and relevant teaching qualifications
