Queensland Rail’s Operational Interface team, as part of Major Projects Integration, works collaboratively across the business to understand and plan for the operational impacts associated with the implementation of the Cross River Rail project.

We are currently seeking a Principal Operational Interface Adviser to join our Major Projects, Engineering & Rail Safety team on a fixed term basis of 2 years. This is an opportunity to use your railway or skillset in contracts or transport logistics to manage and coordinate the operational interface and change activities associated with both Queensland Rail and  Cross River Rail project, including responsibility for ensuring our freight network is fully supported throughout any changes. This exciting and busy role will require a high level of stakeholder management and the ability to think on your feet whilst problem solving within a highly regulated environment. Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing leadership of operational interface processes in a dynamic and changing rail network and freight transport environment through effective formulation and development of strategies and stakeholder engagement.
  • Taking a lead role as the main point of contact for the project in relation to the projects program of works
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure positive outcomes for both the business and customer
  • Ensuring alternative operational plans are managed effectively to gain the best outcome for all stakeholders

What we are looking for:

  • High level of skill in relationship management and stakeholder engagement
  • High level of knowledge of integrated planning, infrastructure planning and supply chain management
  • High level of analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High level of experience working within a highly regulated environment
